Investigating the use of Performance-Based Assessments in Colorado
CADRE has partnered with the state of Colorado and two school districts to study the use of alternative pathways for evaluating graduation competencies. These approaches, which take the form of performance-based assessments (PBAs) or capstone projects, aim to be more student-centered, culturally responsive, and equity-oriented. The state introduced these expanded graduation guidelines with the goal of decreasing barriers for students to demonstrate graduation competencies. That is, although evidence suggests that measures such as the SAT tend to be biased in favor of White and Asian students and students with higher SES, the goal is that these alternative pathways provide all students a more equitable opportunity to demonstrate graduation readiness.

Analysis of Learning Assessment Systems
The analysis of national learning assessment systems (ANLAS) provides a resource for developing country partners to build effective and sustainable learning assessment systems leading to evidence-based decision making in education policy and practice and to support education sector planning. This toolkit aids countries in systematically gathering and analyzing information about their national learning assessment systems to inform the development and implementation of the wider education sector planning process.
